Riding makes life better, but let’s face it: it’s not always a cheap hobby.

If you do wind up buying something, Two Wheeled Thoughts winds up getting a little taste without costing you anything more.

Rust and Redemption

I’m not what you’d call “fashionable”, even by biker standards. But there are occasionally things that seem to fit me.

Ordinarily I wear jeans, but I occasionally want some armored traveling pants.
If you’ve seen me out on the road and it’s not 80 degrees, I’m probably wearing this under my vest:

I don’t wear all the gear all the time, but this is one of my warm weather helmets.

This is my main warm weather helmet:

On the road

Flats happen, and the last thing you want is to be stuck in the mountains pushing your bike uphill.

It’s surprisingly difficult to find a flask that’s actually reliable at holding liquid and not leaking. A lot of the gift flasks you see are just garbage, get a Stanly.
I often have to work with the firewood that I buy or forage for. Norwegian hickory handle is the only way to go, and this fits in my saddle bags.
I like this tent because it packs up extrmely tidy, it’s actually designed as a hiker’s tent and only weighs 2 pounds. It goes up incredibly quickly, I’m usually on my second beer before everyone else is finished with their tents.
Magnesium fire starter. To be fair, I often travel with some dryer lint as a bit of a cheat, but the more primitive the firestarting ritual the more I enjoy it.
This light is small and bright, like really bright. Turn it all the way up and point it at your hand and it’ll get uncomfortably hot. Do not shine in your eyes…
Hate chemical smells? This is what I carry for now while I evaluate some thermacell…
You can’t travel or camp without a blade. Remind me to tell you the story of how my Griptilian got nicknamed “The coupon clipper…”

Stuck at work?

Here’s a badge holder to bring a smile to your face when you’re clocking in:

Ted Simon rode around the world on a Triumph. This is the kind of trip that inspired “The long way around”, and a level of solitude few can appreciate.
Hunter S. Thompson’s legendary book detailing the time he was embedded with the 81.
An interesting, if somewhat odd account of Charles Falco, a meth cooker who turned to infiltrating 1%er clubs to make a deal with the feds.

I won’t say this is “good”, but entertaining…

Klipsch One speaker

What does this have to do with motorcycles? Nothing! It’s just a damn cool speaker. Bust this out while you’re waxing your bike and your neighbors will realize how inadequate their puny
bluetooth speakers are.
